BOOK FROM BROOKLYN'S MOMA PS10 GALLERY.

WHEN I WAS IN NY I WENT TO MOMA'S PS10 GALLERY IN BROOKLYN.
LARA FAVERETTO HAD A SHOW GOING ON, AND AS YOU WALK INTO PS10, THE WALL BY THE CLOAKROOM HAS BEEN CONVERTED INTO A FLOOR-TO-CEILING BOOKCASE. THERE ARE 2,200 BOOKS DONATED FROM NON-PROFITS IN NEW YORK, NEW JERSEY, AND PENNSYLVANIA, BECAUSE THEY WERE NO LONGER USEFUL TO THE INSTITUTIONS AND IN A WAY, ON THE LAST LEG OF THEIR LIVES. BUT THEY COME INTO THEIR OWN AS A PART OF FAVERETTO'S WORK. THE BOOKS WERE REALLY DIFFERENT IN TITLE, SUBJECT, AND PUBLICATION DATE- THERE WAS EVERYTHING FROM COOKERY MANUALS TO ASTROLOGY. EVERYONE WAS INVITED TO TAKE A TITLE OF THEIR CHOOSING, AND FAVARETTO INCLUDED ONE IMAGE FROM HER ARCHIVE IN EACH BOOK. IT WAS LIKE THE BOOKS WERE SMALL SHRINES OR TOMBS CONTAINING FAVARETTO'S IMAGES.

THIS IS THE BOOK I SNAPPED UP- CORNELIA VANDERBILT WHITNEY'S DOLLHOUSE BY MARYLOU WHITNEY.

ITS FULL OF PHOTOS OF THIS WOMAN'S AMAZING DOLLHOUSE- IT LOOKS SO REAL IT'S EERIE.
The book was given as a present for Christmas by the author- i find that quite thrilling (i am such a loser)

THIS WAS THE IMAGE FROM FAVERETTO'S ARCHIVE THAT WAS SLIPPED IN BETWEEN THE PAGES OF THE BOOK....
